Default My Service Grade Colt

I picked up my Service grade 1911 yesterday and I'm Very Happy!!
1941 Colt frame and a replacement Colt Slide. Came with a Mec Gar magazine.
All marking a very crisp and sharp. Maybe the slide stop is Remington and most of the others parts are Colt?

Shipped to Springfield on December 29, 1941.

Got it today. Looks great. Remington Rand frame, Remington Rand slide (type 3) looks like made in 1943 and as far as I can tell all the pieces are right for a 1943 RR.

Here are a bunch of pics from every angle I can think of:

I thought my Service Grade 1945 RR frame with a USGI replacement slide from DES Industries deserved a type 3 RR slide. Was lucky enough to pick up a beautiful freshly parked example. Although the park is darker than the arsenal done slide, I like the 2 tone look. 1945 RR slides were slightly darker anyway. Now I have the hard slide, Wolff replacement springs, USGI replacement chrome lined barrel, and a shock buff installed for shooting and a type 3 RR slide and original springs to go with it. The replacement slide will stay with this gun forever as I want to keep it as it came from the CMP.

Finally got my service grade and couldn't be any happier !! Ithaca frame and Remington Rand slide.
I have had some "custom" grips for some time awaiting the appropriate gun to install. They were purchased from a person I know well who got some items from an estate sale. Among them was a 1911. Unfortunately, he sold the gun before I could get to him but the buyer didn't want the grips that were on the gun at the time. A swap was done and these grips were available. Seems like they belong on this piece of history even if the original veteran's gun no longer has them.

Thanks, CMP!! Thanks, Definie!!! Just what I expected from a Rack. No rebuild marks I can see. Is that a H-S on the barrel?
