1903 Micrometer for GSMM matches

Do you need micrometer for the 1903 to be competitive at GSMM matches?

I don’t believe you need to have one, you can just kind of nudge the sight in the needed direction.

You will be firing at 200 yards only, and you are allowed 5 sighters.
I have used my M1903 Mark 1 in GSM matches.
You will enjoy using it in competition.

You just need to get a zero, and then learn to use a little Kentucky elevation (hold fat today, hold a little line of white, etc). Really, once you have your zero it's not going to change for the most part. As martindc1 says, if you can just move it enough to be noticeable, it'll make a difference. As with all military rifles with gross sight adjustments, learning a little hold off/up/down will get you a long way. The M1903 rear sight is actually better than the M1903A3 from the standpoint you have a much better chance of getting near zero anyway. I agree with rubicon72 too, the Mk 1 is great to use in the Springfield match or the Roosevelt match (which now only seems to be at D-Day).

With only five sighters, I do not like to make sight adjustments unless the POI is really (way) off. If this is the case, make the adjustment right away, before you are out of sighting shots. It is very important to have your rifles properly sighted in and the barrels fouled, before you go to a match. Good Shooting. ..

Yep! Helps to know your rifle. I usually only take 3 sighters at most. Anymore and the mirage from the barrel heat messes with me.
