I know this has been kicked around a bit, anybody by chance know or found any documentation to solve the question as to what does "041" indicate?
![]() I've seen it on Garand and Carbine stocks, but never noticed on a 1903 or 1917 stock. Thanks |

041 on the left side is thought to be an Anniston Army Depot stamp but not proven. You don't see many of them.

I would have bid myself, but I already have such a DCM supplied Anniston refurb tucked away in the safe, which is why I recognized the shipping box in the auction pic (note the rifle was not well described, which may have limited the number of bidders).
