Default Scammed - learn from my mistake

Please learn from my mistake. I was scammed over in the WTB section. Was excited he was willing to "sell" me the exact item I was looking for. Threw caution to the wind and sent the money.

After a day or two, I started to feel uneasy and did a backwards image search of the pics he (whom now appears to be banned) provided, and sure enough the exact description and and pics he sent me via PM were pulled from another forum post from 2 years past.

Needless to say, I'm embarrassed, but wanted to warn folks that everything is not always as it seems.

Stay vigilant out there gentlemen.

Dont Be Embarressed,It happens to the best of us,And thank You for warning us ,I do not know if it is allowed but posting the scammers name and a little more info may help us all from being scammed from him.He may be banned but that wont stop him,He will use different info and open another acct and go back to work on someone else unfortunatly.Im so sorry to hear that happened to you.Same thing happened to me,But I got cold feet and did not send the money.I was just lucky. If it’s who I think it is. He contacted me and right off he didn’t pass smell test. If they are not willing to have a chat over the phone, that’s one of the first strikes for me if not all 3.

Was it rvina631 or Ballo? He was constantly lurking the WTB. I got another one I think is gone too now as well. And definitely nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s just a reminder to all of us to be overly cautious.

Ballo. I think I can luckily get a chargeback, so hopefully I'm not out anything with a little bit of work with my CC company. Lesson learned for sure.

They lurk on a lot of gun forums. Whenever someone posts a want to buy add they always jump in. This one was from a post I did on calguns.

When I got ripped off several years ago, I contacted the FBI IC3 department (internet crime division), filled out the complaint form, and then told the guy who ripped me off to expect a visit from the FBI soon. I had my money returned within a week.
