Overall, this has been an outstanding trip. Thank you Rob and friends for pointing me to that field grade!
It was good to see you also. Always good to see someone who was happy with a rifle I picked for them back in the good ole days when the CMP allowed "buyers agents" to pick rifles for remote customers. I enjoyed those times and got to enjoy the search for rifles, even if it was not for me. Good times
Searching for stocks is fun. There were two IHC stocks at the South Store. Both were nice so the wise choice dollar wise was the field grade. There was also a VERY nice '52 dated IHC stock at the Range Store.
I ended up getting a Field Grade with a WRA barrel that I needed for a project at the South Store.
Since it was my birthday I felt it was OK to splurge on a rifle where I only needed the barrel.
Also, I Ducked myself with a CMP Duck!

All in all, a great day to turn 68

Wow… the IHC guns just dried up to nothing. I was hoping to pick one up on my next trip down when the ammo became available.

I know it is repeated on here time after time but thank you so much for your reports PH68! I look forward to reading them every week and seeing what is available. Just wish I hadn’t waited so long to start my collection.

If it was a 4 mil gap rack grade, I saw that last month when it was mislabeled as a regular IHC rack. Certain someone will grab it and give her a refresh

Glad that (when they're there) the IHCs are looking solid, def going to make a visit soon-ish to grab one. Only slightly jelly from gungho's pickup . I will also say if there's nothing on the racks, ask the armorers if they have anything in the back that could come out, sometimes they do.

Anyone confirm what the FG/SG IHCs are going for?

Thanks!

The buyer's agent concept always seemed problematic to me for a number of reasons. I'm not sorry to see it go away even though it made a lot of people happy.

The rifle buy to get the barrel was pretty much a no-brainer since the barrel is about worth the price of the rifle. Put a service grade barrel on it and sell it here in the forum next week for more than you paid. Free WRA barrel for your birthday!

Cheers and Happy Bday
Tony
