Default M1 sniper questions

Whatís the best gun case for hauling a M1C to the range with the scope mounted?

Also, anybody have a Weaver K4 60B? Are up and left cw or ccw? I picked one up second hand it seems like the arrows are backwards. I wonder if it has the wrong knobs.

I like a soft case and have two of these, one for my 03A4 clone and my Remington 700P.
I especially like the adjustable added scope pad for extra scope protection.
Can't beat the price and USA made...

I have a K4 60C - Left/Down are CW and Up/Right are CCW, I just looked at the adjustment dials to confirm.

Thatís what my knobs say on them. Do you know if the C model has the fixed reticle too? I really donít understand how the knobs change zero when the reticle doesnít move.

Thanks for the info the case suggestions!

I took it to the range today. The arrows on the knobs are definitely backwards. The good news is that I got it dialed in pretty close and shot a 1.5Ē five shot group from prone. I only shot about 10 rounds total and the clamps on the upper mount were already starting to loosen up. Itís a reproduction of the MC52 mount. Should I just torque them tighter? Is there a better way to prevent them from loosening up?

I will note that Reproduction MC52 mounts (like the Tar Heel Ordnance mounts from years ago) typically have 26mm rings, which is what the old Kollmorgen scopes used, as that was/is the standard European diameter for scopes of the 20th century. This is slightly larger than 1" and can presents a loose fit issue with common US scopes.

Your US-made Redfield scope has a 1" tube, which is 25.4mm in diameter, so the rings will be a little loose unless you add something like black duct tape under the rings on around the scope to bring the diameter up by 0.6mm so its closer to 26mm. Just an fyi.
