Default Can you guys ID these butt plates????

L to R, 1.7 Rockola, 3.8 IBM, 3.9 IBM. I have studied the photos in the only 2 reference books I have till I am blue in the face....only thing I can determine is the Rock-Ola looks wrong, the center IBM looks OK, right IBm looks wrong, particularly if the center one is correct!!!

Left Late Winchester is wrong, It is like Riesch, P 116. My eyes did not see the missing dots at 12:00 o'clock.
Center IBM
Right NPM

I agree with 6 on the center butt plate being an IBM and the right a NMP. But I think the left butt plate is a late Rock-ola. Check Riesch, p. 116 and the dots around the center.

Have you checked www.chestnutridge.com ? There are some pretty good photos to compare. John

There is a difference on some of the butt plates on the Chestnut ridge site when compared to those in the Riesch book. For example, on p. 117, the SG butt plate has the missing 4 o'clock dot and on Chestnut ridge it is pictured as a Rock-ola (late). Hmmm

Perhaps the more experienced collectors here could add some clarity.

Chestnut has about as many right as wrong. But it was a good first start fifteen, twenty years ago.

I think U44 is correct wrt the left butt plate. I sure don't see NPM in the right one though.

Meplat, you might be right--not a NMP. After counting dots, rows of dots and looking at two sources, the only thing I am sure of is that I'm getting a headache.

My 2 cents just to further confuse.

Using only the pix in War Baby p293 to compare I offer that:
Left to right we are looking at: NPM, STD Prod, & Saginaw
