Default Recommendation for precision pistolsmith

I have a 1911 ball gun that was originally smithed by the late George Madore. It's trigger has starting to act wonky (squeeze the trigger with the safety on, release triggger and when safety is released the hammer drops to half cock). Can anyone recommend a qualified Competition level smith who can look over this heirloom and do any required repairs? I am in Southern NJ but am willing to ship if that becomes necessary.
Thanks!

Default Pistolsmith

SnellBaker: Go to the Bullseye Forum and see who they offer. I have read many good things about K C Crawford and others. You might have to wait for them as they are really busy. As an aside, George Madore was my uncle, and I am lucky to own one of his Bullseye Pistols. Bruce J.

This is my 2nd Madore pistol(the first was a wad gun that I sold to someone who could shoot it well) and they have both been tack drivers. He was truly a master smith. What bullseye forum do you speak of? I couldn't find one on this site.

Art, check with Jon Eulette on the Bullseye L forum. He can fix it for you.

Well that didn't work out. Jon doesn't have an FFL and transferring a handgun interstate to an unlicensed individual is asking for problems. So.. the search continues.

KC Crawford was already mentioned, but what about David Sams or Greg Derr? Also, I believe Mike Curtis is back to building guns.

Thanks guys. I've been in touch with KC and Dave so I'm good. I appreciate the suggestions.
