Thumbs up 40X & 40XB Handstops Available Soon!

OK, MiDodgeguy and I have been working on creating a supply of 40X and 40XB handstops for our fellow CMP Forum friends. MiDodgeguy created the 3D modeling to get the swivel block and swivel base created while I am turning out the swivel rings, screws and oval nuts in my shop. We will be producing handstops with a variety of options:

40X Handstop, early style aluminum (for the short rail) – All original parts (for the collector)

40X Handstop, early style (for the short rail) – Replica faithful to original specs and finish

40X Handstop, early style (for the short rail) – Replica faithful to original specs but with dark manganese parkerized hardware

40XB Handstop, late style Bakelite (for the long rail) – All original parts (for the collector)

40XB Handstop, late style Bakelite (for the long rail) – Original Bakelite block, replica parts w/blued finish on the hardware

40XB Handstop, late style Bakelite (for the long rail) – Original Bakelite block, replica parts w/dark manganese parkerized finish on the hardware

I know it is a little confusing but it really boils down to 2 different styles. If you have the USMC 40X or the early 40X with the short rail then you need the early style handstop. If you have the 40XB with the heavy barrel then you need the late style (Bakelite) handstop.

So here’s the deal, it looks like these things are going to run about $45-$50 to produce but to get an exact quote for the CNC work we need to get a rough count of how many guys actually want one. So we are going to conduct a little poll to get a quick head count for the first production run. We are NOT taking orders at the present time but need a ballpark number to start production. We are anticipating getting the first production run done in the next couple of weeks.

So here is what we need – If you think you would like a 40X handstop (early style) just post a reply that says “40X +1”. If you want the later style just post “40XB +1”. At the end of this week we will total the responses and start the first run based on those numbers.

I have included pics of some of the first prototypes so you can see what they will look like. The bakelite version has a replica screw, nut, swivel and swivel base and the early style aluminum version has an original screw and swivel for comparison. They came out close to identical to the originals.

Sorry for the long-winded post, just reply +1 if interested – Thanks!

Regards,

Jeff (JWA)
