Default Smith Corona Accuracy Rifle, cal. 30.

Here is my "shoulder-fired", September 1943, SMITH CORONA Accuracy Rifle, cal. 30. It's wearing a G.R. Douglas Co., barrel in 30-06; a salvaged/sporterized M1903A3 scant-grip stock; SK Insta-Mount (no-drill base); a borrowed Leupold 2-7X scope & rings. I have not glass bedded it at this time. I'm considering it a "work-in-progress".

When I fired it for the first time yesterday, the scope ran out of right windage (scope adjustment "topped-out") so, lacking a 1/8" allen wrench, I returned home to relocate the rear of the SK scope base (on the rear dovetail). Today I fired it @ 100yds:

Weight, unloaded, as shown: 14 lbs, 3 ozs. Recoil is mild.

Thanks to all the MANN posters for the inspiration.

That rifle looks like it would be a load of fun at the range ... or even on a deer stand! Put a scope on it with a bit more horsepower! After all, you can't hit is if you can't see it. Sincerely. bruce.
