Made along with the 6.5 Winchesters. They too can have a NPM butt plate.

Could you expound upon this a little? I'm here to learn.

Many years ago I started noticing late Winchester carbines near 6.5 would have a non-Winchester butt plate. A NPM butt plate. And a NPM butt plate was the only non-Winchester butt plate I saw on original late Winchesters.
I started taking notes on them whenever I saw one.
From my notes, I have records of several 6.49 Winchester carbines up to one 6.59 with original NPM butt plates. A NPM butt plate is one of the easiest to pick out by the more rounded outer edge and three rows of full dots by the screw usually not cut at all or very little.
There is no telling how many NPM butt plates I missed before I started noticing them.
A true Winchester butt plate is also easy to spot by the dot bleed into the screw. The only other butt plate that even looks close to a Winchester is a QHMC butt plate but they have a sharp outer border around the dots.

Would you care to guesstimate the manufacture date of this Carbine?
