I have a 1917 Colt Frame, trying to find a correct early slide with a parkerized finish. But not in a hurry.
My dad was able to swap his Ithaca Frame / Colt slide to the correct Ithaca slide with a face to face meeting with another CMP buyer. I then bought a RR slide to correct my wife’s RR frame. We kept the replacement slide that came off it |

Just a thought...
If you are interested in selling the Colt slide..I would like to look at it. I have a Colt frame with a replacement GI slide. |

For those of you who don't check in on my other thread, I think we got our first match this morning! If it's true, it was worth all the work. I'd love to see a FOIA on both guns too get some more history on them.

That match was for Colt frame 2260198 and Colt slide 883675...did they even number slides in the 2 millions? I don't have a need to sell or match as the service grade I received is in pretty nice condition. 1943 slide on a 1945 1911 works great for me.

Hmmmm I think late 43 the practice of numbering slides at Colt stopped so this would be for Colt 883675

As a side note the pistol was tagged as a Ithaca frame but as soon as I looked at it I saw the S/N font, GHD inspecter stamp and the G on the top of the frame I knew it was one of the pistols that Colt duplicated the S/N on in 1943. Wilki |
