USMC 10x Unertl .50 Cal Sniper Telescope 1384

OK guys here is the dumb question for today, why does this scope not have the word "Sniper" on it? It does look like it was milled off and replaced by an electro pencil saying 50 Cal. Here is a link:

It could be the USMC was using the scope in training and it was not to be designated as a sniper scope.

As mentioned in the other thread. This was originally a 10x scope that was converted to 50cal. At that time the word sniper was removed to make room for them to mark it as 50cal. I don't see the 50cal on this one, but it may be painted over or rubbed away.

If you look it does say 50 CAL
