Beretta-Armi Roma .30-06 Garand

Can anyone help me with identification on what this exactly is? I picked it from a box of probably 200 Garands, all in .30-06 caliber with possibly 80% overall being SA made. It isn't Danish marked, so is this an Italian made and Italian used Garand?

I believe the “E” stamp indicates it was made for export. Beretta had a number of contracts to supply M1s to other countries. (Working from memory, which may be faulty.)

Looks like a real Italian Beretta Garand, nice score, Wish I had it, I've got a Beretta made Danish Garand that has all PB parts but the stock.

Congratulations. You've found what is believed to be a Beretta M1 contracted and sold to the Cuban Batista regime in the middle to late 1950's.
Ruggero Pettinelli's book identifies the serial number range to the Cubans. Its believed the ones sold to the Libyan government of King Mohammed al-Mahdi Idris al-Sanussi overlap the Cuban (Batista) contract.Yours is not in the known Libyan contracted rifles which is thought to start around E046XX.
Did this come from the Austrian dealer who purchased the Breda rifles?
With yours, I've seen pictures of three and know of four rifles to exist. Here is a picture of mine.

How would those Cuban contract rifles have been fitted out....same "PB" marked parts, as the Danish contract,including the barrel/oprod or some other markings?

It's highly likely they would have been built with PB marked parts. There would not have been Breda (BMB) parts. There're so few of them, any configuration is a good starting point.
