Default Enger-Kress M3 holster

So I recently picked up a WW2 era M3 shoulder holster made by Enger-Kress that has never been used. Always have wanted one to go with the 1911. There's no cracking on the leather but it's pretty stiff / dry / inflexible. Very dusty with a small patch of moldy residue on the back. What's the best way to bring this one back to life without damaging it? I have pure lanolin on hand which I read is one of the better treatments, but I've never attempted old leather restoration before.

I recently used some Ballistol on two M1916 holsters, a 1942 Boyt and a 1942 Sears. No complaints so far. I also wrapped a 1911 with wax paper and put in each, to help form them again to shape. Also had a 1983 Bolen Leather to treat as well. Good luck.

Leather treatments, like gun oils, like gun cleaners, etc. generate a lot of opinions.

I only use Pecard's Antique Leather Dressing on leather. I see Ballistol as more of an oil for metal, but that's just me.

BSAGuy, thanks for the link. I've got a Stevens (.22) leather holster to try that on, about 1900-1905.
