Default FedEx ammo delivery required photo of my ID

FedEx just dropped off a recent cmp ammo order. They wouldn't give the packages until I let them photograph my drivers license. What is up with this? They said signature and birthday were no longer valid...they have to photo your ID

FedEx is simply acting to provide better security of shipments. The logic of such a policy is obvious ... to all except demokrats. Sincerely. bruce.

I read on a ammo website that they were going to charge for shipping insurance because so much was getting lost .

The insurance thing makes sense to me. I was thinking it was something like that or maybe some sort of lawsuit from underage ammo sales. I don't like it, but they are the ones that deliver most of the ammo I buy online

My recent delivery, all that was asked was my last name and dob. Nothing more. Didn't even ask for ID. Asking for photo of a DL would bother me a bit.

I can see FedEx asking for your ID to verify, but not taking a pic of it. Is this something unique in the OP's area or a mandate from FedEx for the whole country? FedEx makes no mention at their site for taking a pic upon delivery.

The driver apologized profusely about needing the picture. She kept saying this was their new policy. She had a handheld scanner-camera-signature pad device
